About Evangeline
Grammar without the snobbery
In eighth grade, I was voted Most Likely to Correct Others’ Grammar. I was insufferable. Since then, I’ve come down off my high horse and taken my rightful position as an aide to communicators.
In my 20+ year career I’ve worked in publishing, military service, librarianship, philanthropy, and technology. In each role I established a reputation for clear, concise, and lively communication, always striving to rise above jargon and biased language. My greatest satisfaction came from shaping others’ messaging—helping them tidy and tighten their prose, sweep out redundancy and inconsistency, stabilize wobbly structure, and clear up ambiguity—all while preserving their voice and meaning.
In 2018 I finally decided to dedicate myself full-time to working with content creators. I handle the mechanics of writing—the commas and tenses and which-versus-that debate—leaving writers free to focus on what they do best: create!
Also, it should be noted I’m a bit of an em dash addict. I’m working on it.
